What permissions are needed to use a celebrity photograph?
Model releases - A model release is always needed when a photograph of a recognizable person is being used in an advertisement. If only the body or body parts are visible, not the face, then a model release is still needed. A person could be recognized by a birth mark or tattoo. Deceased celebrities are normally represented by their estates, unless the celebrity has been dead for 50 years or over.
